About TOW FOO Pond

This is a nice freshwater sportsfishing pond located in near Kundang Lake Resort. Officially known as Tow Foo Sportsfising Centre. 'Tow Fu' (beancurd) because the fishes in this pond are fed with a beancurd diet only. Strictly sportsfishing (catch-and-release) except for Tilapias, you can either have it cooked on the spot or take-home not more than 1.5kg (not too sure about this, suggest you check with owners first), Tow Fu Pond offers anglers a truly refreshing freshwater experience amidst a natural pond environment.

There are 4 ponds altogether, Of the four, three is known to have lots of Toman and Haruan as the water is calm and without water pumps. However, the main attraction is the pond right in front of the canteen. This is where all the action is. A variety of fish has been released over the years. The fact that this is a catch-and-release pond, these fishes are big - i mean huge.

So what do you think it's inside this pond? Just to give you a clue... this pond has a track record of 163 missing rods/reels since it began operation. Largest recorded fish - Catfish a whopping 12.8kg, spanning approx. 3.5ft. Can't imagine the 'fight' to get this bugger up! Just to get you a little excited, fish species includes Giant Patin, Giant Featherback, Giant Pacu, Giant Toman, Giant Haruan, Giant Rohu, 'Giant' Tilapia & Lampan. Basically, all Giants!

Humbly and privately owned by fish farmers, Uncle Wong and Uncle Aziz.

Shrimp Topper

(Shrimp Topper picture will be available soon)

For the adventurous, rent a Shrimp Topper (5ft paddle boat) and get yourself close to the perimeters of isolated islands. Don't worry about toppling over, as long as you are seated you'll be alright. Whatever it is, DO NOT STAND.

Shallow pond, 5ft-6ft deep at the most, most shallow along the perimeters of the pond. Cast near grass patches along the perimeters. Some say, sure hit(s) within 15 minutes of casting. Careful not to get snagged, lots of dead branches (probably rusty rods) below. Chances of bites on a shrimp topper are far better than fishing from land.

Shrimp Topper Rental - RM? (not sure have to check with owners).

Boat House

Try taking the boat house out to the middle of the pond or basically anywhere in the pond. Can be fun. Fairly comfortable, enough space to move about, easy for 2-3 anglers. Fits and easy chair for that extra comfort. Yes, lights are available, just in case you need it during the night. Navigate by a manual hand/leg paddle.

Recommended for overnight fishing. Known by anglers to have caught 'many-many' on board a Boat House during night fishing. Some boast as much as to have caught 8 Patins, 6 Tomans and 7 Pacus in one-night of fishing. Enjoy!

Boat House Rental (first-come-first-serve basis)
Half Day: RM35
Full Day: RM60
2 Boat House available.
